:) yea you had good question. heres another for you about the hiBORE. why would the brag about the size of the chasis that the club is built on (a 540cc chasis) but while making the sole bigger reducing the surface area on the face. how does that make it more forgiving? i really think their gamble isnt going to pay off with this over priced club. where are all the cleveland tour players that are playing it. and when vijay says hiBORE it sounds more like HIGH BALL. and that mole on his face is staring at me :beee:

The Hibore is very stable due to the weighting. I don't know why or how they did it but the Hibore is one straight club. I'm not sure its the longest driver out there but its by far one of the straightest.

I'm not a big fan of the Hi-Bore but I just have to respond to your questions...

How forgiving a modern driver plays has much less to do with the size of the face compared to its moment of inertia (MOI). By making the chasis larger you can move weight further away from the face which increases MOI. Also, by moving the weight further from the face you can do more to manipulate the ball flight characteristics. Thus, the size of the chasis is highly relevant to forgiveness.

However, "their gamble isnt [sic] going to pay off" not because of the size of the chasis nor the mole on Vijay's face (as you so inartfully implied), but because this club just disappoints, IMO due to less than "Wow" performance in exchange for how non-traditional it looks. That's why so few Cleveland Tour Staffers are playing it, and rumor has it Vijay pulled it from his bag this week as well. The concept is sound, they just need to use it to design something better than the Hi-Bore.

Sounds like a hater to me. The hi bore as treated me right in every way. It goes just as far as my J33R 460 and it is so accurate. Its either dead straight or a little draw, i love it.ive been flying a lot guys ive played this high school year and only played two guys who could keep up. Hi bore has been the best driver i have played...period.

The HiBore is easily as forgiving as the SQ Max that it replaced. The SQ Max plays like a 550cc head. There is no problem with the size of this head. The MOI is obviously very high. I have never hit a ball this straight before. I suspect that the reason that I never have hit one this far before is that I have always teed my balls too low. I finally found a driver that is custom made for that little trait. One of the above posters mentioned lack of tour play. I take that as a good sign. As soon as I hit the HiBore, I knew that it wouldn't be in a lot of bags on tour. Just too freakin straight. I can draw it and fade it but not a lot. It wants to go straight. This is a good thing. We'll see how it does on the LPGA and Champions tour. That may be of more relative worth to me.

Lastly, what the pro's play has absolutely no influence on any type of golf equipment I use nor should it. The average player and a PGA professional player is like comparing apples to tomatoes.

A point so many choose not to realize :) Good post.

they could have done the 460 version and it would be as big as the SQ but now they have another years worth of products and dont really have to do anything to get it. Im sure it will be the Launcher Hibore 460 and it will be just like the sq with the scoop back. I think the new designs are great the only thing I have against cleveland is that our rep criticized the SQ and how ugly it is and the tech is not that great. A month later he was talking about their new funky design saying how better it was. To me it is just a premature version of what they really want to come out with. The 460.

To me, it doesn't matter what the technology is behind the Hi Bore... it's just flat out the best performing driver I have EVER hit. I've been in the golf biz for quite awhile and I get to hit alot of the stuff out there, and I'm just shocked how well this club works for me.

I don't give a crap if Vijay uses it, goes back to the Comp, can't say the name right, or anything like that...I love it.
