First off, I always buy a shoe depending on conditions in my area. If you get a lot of rain I'd buy a better spike, I rock my tour 360's last years model for 119 on tgw. if you want the addipures for confort I would def try them out a lot of guys on here love them. If you want a sneaker type try some ECCO's and a new company makes a skateboardish type shoe I think it's Iconic? different spelling

I'd give footjoy a try. Find a last that fits your foot. Here is a list of there lasts currently available and find a shoe that has the last.

MEN'S LASTS

Icon Laser Last- Contemporary, slightly squared toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. The Icon Laser Last is a composite of thousands of digital scans of men's feet by the FootJoy Laser Fitting System™.

Laser Last- Full rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. The Laser Last is a composite of thousands of digital scans of men's feet by the FootJoy Laser Fitting System™.

Laser Plus Last- Full rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. The last bottom has been contoured to closer match the shape of the foot.

Men's LoPro Last- Full rounded toe character with a slightly shallow forefoot and a slightly narrow heel. Standard instep.

Contour Last- Full rounded toe character, full across forefoot, standard instep and heel. The last bottom has been contoured to more closely match the shape of the foot.

Austin Last- Fullest rounded toe character, fullest fit across forefoot, standard instep and heel.

Men's Competition Last- Full rounded toe character, fuller fit across forefoot, full instep, with a slightly narrow heel. Athletically sloped from instep to toe.

Olympic Last- Full rounded toe character, fuller fit across forefoot, full instep, with a slightly narrow heel. Last used on certain athletic styles.

Stanford Last- Standard toe character, full fit across forefoot, instep, and heel. Preferred last for Country Club Casual styles.Erickson Last- Standard fit in the heel and instep with a slightly shallow forefoot. Oblique toe character for sport comfort.

Erickson Last- Standard fit in the heel and instep with a slightly shallow forefoot. Oblique toe character for sport comfort.

______________

I don't have an official list of other brands, but:
Nike seems to have standard heel, standard to wide fore foot, and athletic slope
Adidas seems to have standard heel and standard to narrow fore foot
Callaway seems to have standard to narrow heel and standard to narrow fore foot

These are general ideas of the shoes that we carry. I'm sure each company has some models that fall outside these guidelines (and we don't carry them).

Best thing to do is find the shoe that fits best out of the box.

I fully agree with adidas tour 360 the 4.0's. The shoes we select for golf are different than a walking shoe when it comes to the shank. The shoe should be comfortable, but support the foot as well.

A common foot problem for golfers, that can be avoided, is called neuroma, or a pinched nerve, at the bottom of the foot. It typically occurs between the third and fourth toes. It's caused by the repeated weight transfer to the front foot that takes place in the follow-through.

I devloped neuroma due to the shoes I was wearing did not properly support my foot as I made my weight transfer. So I always caution friends and family to check their golf shoes. They should NOT twist easily in your hands.. up and down is OK, but not twist.

I have found some shoes can break down withen a couple of months depending how often you play. Some of the most recognized brands break down so I am just offering some opinion, when looking for comfort don't trade comfort for support. Your game and feet will thank you.

i too have been looking for comfortable shoes as i have a recurring callous in my left heel that is a bit painful with the wrong shoes...

for extended walks indoors like in malls i normally have to change to my crocs and to my nike athletics(air pegasus 25 model) for outdoor as i need the shoe to be quite forgiving but still soft and firm enough in the footbed and specially the heel area...

after researching here and in other forums i now have 2 pairs that have met my requirements---nike air max rejuvenate and adidas tour 360 II.......i have used them for 5 rounds each---mostly walking..

i also tried the adidas fitrx but did not like them as the heel area was too hard for my liking and hurt my heel a lot...i only used them for 12 holes and sold them..

i am now awaiting for a pair of adidas powerband 2.0 which i hope will also meet my requirements...
