Titleist 909 F3 13*

THIS THING IS A ROCKET SHIP!!!

Picked it up from a great member here, in the FS section. Gave it a test drive this past Saturday. It's got a BlueBoard 83x in it. I was hitting a 904F with said shaft and I thought it was powerful, and it is, but this 909 blows it away. It has a different sound, more of a slight ting, but the ball explodes off the face. I should have gotten it sooner.

That's what I like to hear - I've narrowed my search down to two fairways now - and this is one of them (13* also). The only thing I've been wondering is how is to hit off the fairway? I would be using it off the tee mostly, but I would really like to know that it's not impossible to hit off the deck.

I have the previous generation, the 906f2. It isn't hard to make good contact off the deck because of the sole design. Mine goes a little on the low side off the deck but very long. I recently picked up an 18* to go with my 13*. I may look for a 15* too since you can't really stop the ball on a green with the 13*

These are definitely clubs for single digit handicaps though.

How far you hitting the 13 and 18? What is your swing speed?

I haven't had a chance to play with the 18* yet because of the weather. I hit the 13* off the tee only maybe 20 yards short of my driver. My driver ss is about 110. I would recommend that someone has at least a ss of 100 to play this club.

Off the deck it really depends on the fairway. If the fairway is firm it will go a long way because the trajectory is fairly low. I don't have the yardage down exactly but i would say at least 250. When i first got it there were times when i thought i had no chance to get to the green on a par 5 so i would hit when people were on the green. Then i walk up there and the ball is just short of the green from 280 out, but obviously that is with a lot of roll.
