Putting left handed

DB, switch hitting is not new. It sounds like your dominant eye is the big factor here. Check your setup in a wardrobe mirror for shoulder cant. With your right hand low in left hand setup you may have a tendency to lower your right shoulder increasing the likelyhood of a decending blow through impact. Soften the left elbow to allow the shoulders an upward angle.
Remember limited static loft + rise through impact = dynamic loft...and better roll.

I am right handed but play lefty...right hand / right eye dominant.
I tried to play everything lefty, but putt righty..was OK during practice - but could not get comfortable when playing. IMO - too diffcult to 'switch' my brain....do I do a short chip lefty or a long putt from off the green righty?
I stuck to lefty all around and have no issues
maybe buy a cheap used putter to try it out before investing in something good?

Go with whatever works -- even the pros try things like sidesaddle (KJ Choi). The most important thing, other than practicing with whichever side you use, is to be comfortable and confident in it. If you are worried that the people you're playing with will think it's weird that you are putting lefty, you will be thinking about that instead of focusing on making the putt.

It is not that unusual too see players putting the opposite side of what they hit their shots with. Played with one today - right handed golfer putting left handed

Give it a try and as said before do not worry about what others think.

I have a similar predicament - Right eye dominant, for full swing I am ok, (though I have to watch my alignment not to line up too far right) but for putting I can't see the line with a square stance. I have found that if I open up my stance quite a bit (30* or so) I can see the line much better and most of the time putt halfway decent this way. I have also played around with LH putters at the golf store but it is hard to look at the putter from the other side (though the results are nearly the same as an open stance righty).

Either way you have to pick a method and practice practice practice!

I was a die-hard hockey guy growing up and played hockey left-handed. Did everything else right handed. When I started playing golf, I swung the clubs right handed, but putted left handed as I had one of those 2-way putters and just felt more natural to me. Now I putt right handed as a local pro (who I now know is a joke) told me I needed to get consistent with my game and switch one or the other. Putting seemed like the logical fit, so I putt righty now.

I would invest in a cheap, but not crappy, left-handed putter and see how it turns out.

I've been golfing this way for 20 years. Picked up the lefty putting playing putt putt and was simply better from that side. The putts look and feel better from that side.

If I try a righty putter, I feel like I'm trying to speak a new language or something, really strange.

I've considered trying lefty clubs, but never take the plunge.

As far as it being "abnormal". . .i've golfed with a couple handfuls of guys over the last 5 or 6 years that putt opposite side of their other clubs. Certainly not a high percentage or anything, but not like I NEVER see it.

I'm left handed but I put righty. I do this because for the first two years of my golfing career (2000-2001), I played right handed. When I switched to lefty clubs, right handed putting just seemed more natural to me.
