Callaway ball comparable to E6

This last year I ended up switching from Pro V1 to the Bridgestone E6. I know those two balls are totally different types of balls but I just kept playing the V1 because of PRIDE. Switching to the E6 saved me several strokes per round as my biggest battle is keeping the ball in play. Since switching I've realized that I need to throw name brand pride out the window and play the ball that fits my swing the best.

That being said I would like to try a ball in the Callaway line that is comparable to the E6. I thought all those years I needed to be playing a soft bitting ball but my best rounds were recorded when I'd switch up to harder, straighter flying balls. My swing speed is around 105 mph and I struggle with balloning and sidespin.

I have always been a fan of callaway balls and would like to give them another shot so any addvice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Callaway makes nothing of equal construction and ball compression to the E6.
The E6 is 70 compression, the E6+ is 74.
Callaway makes only one ball that is close to being comparable to the E6. That ball is the HX Hot Plus at 86 compression. The E6 is also low spin from both Driver and Short Irons. Callaway makes no ball that is Low Spin from a Short Iron.
The HX Hot Plus's cover is practically the same hardness at the E6 (86 vs 85). It too is a 3 piece ball.
Additionally, I am of the opinion that with your fast swing speed you need a ball of at least 90 compression, probably even 100. Good Luck.

Give the BB Diablo and the HX Hot Plus a try. Although, I don't think either ball is as good as the E6. I think the E6 has less side spin than the Callaway balls.

Cally is coming out with a new ball called HX Diablo Tour that replaces both the HX Hot and the HX Bite. The E6 is a longtime favorite of mine, but these might be worth a look.

A 3 piece with approx the same spins rates as the balls its replacing. Basically its being done to promote the Diablo name. Will retail for approx $25

Agreed. The HX Hot Plus would be a harder alternative but probably the closest Callaway makes. We don't know the specs of the new Diablo Tour, but I feel that it will be alittle spinnier like the HX Bite rather than the Hot.

At 100+ ss, the e6 is likely too soft. You should really try some balls with compression in the 90's. Most surlyn covered balls will help lower spin off the tee.

I played two dozen Diablos and preferred the E6, but with your swing speed you might like them better. With that said I my local shop told me they were more on the spin end of the spectrum. If you're willing try the Wilson Staff X1,$20 two dozen at Walmart, plays just like the E6 for way less money. Like you this ball gives me way more fairways and thus improved score.

Diablo Tour is less spin that the HX series off the driver. Probably similar spin on short irons.

Pintail55, nice topic. Is the E6 a low spinning ball which has a core that reduces sidespin? I just bought a dozen and can't wait to try them. I just want to get the ball in play. And have you ever tried the Dynamic Gold SuperLite shaft? To my surprise Matt Kuchar plays a 95 gram AeroTech shaft. Yes, 95 grams, he said so himself. The SL's are around 107 - 113 with Sensicore I think.
