Hogan and Player

I noticed how "shut" Hogan face was here while doing this little demonstration

I'm all caught up with the Joe Dante takeaway from 4 magic moves and the Carl Lohren One Move with the left shoulder and found this image

Unlike Hogan, what seems to work for me right now feels like a Ryan Moore type move where I don't let the club head get inside the hands but yet get the hands moving inside

Please don't slam me Hogan experts

The problem with these kind of pictures or short video sequences without audio is that none of us has any idea what is being demonstrated. For all we know, he could be demonstrating a fault in that picture, how not to do it.

Yes he is and showing the most powerful position where you want your club to be able to hit with all you got. Nice photo.

i guess you must have been there at the time TeeAce?

seriously this forum is being ruined by know-it-all bickering, ranting, fighting, definition wars and complete nonsense.
if you can't swing at least as good as Gary Woodland i think you should realize your opinion is quite worthless.
i know nothing is where the student should start, then conversation can be sensible.

Not there, but doing all kind of sports all my life as I was younger and learned how the body works. That angle is the most loaded place where the club can be .

not wanting to start another war but..
"That angle is the most loaded place where the club can be ."
is what i am talking about,
you guys just can't help yourselves it seems.
that's a firm opinion you are expressing with a sort of religious fervour.
it your opinion its not the truth necessarily.
can we stop the "i know, you don't" opinions and just do research.

I'm pretty sure this is a discussion forum, not a research lab! :stink:

Is there some back-story between you guys? Because your response to TeeAce seems a little over the top. All he said is it was Ben Hogan demonstrating a position and complemented OP on the photo. Why does that warrant a flame?

What I was saying is that that point is biomecanically the strongest position to hit. At that point the club head is as far from the ball as ti can and tension in each lever is maximized. Tensions between hips > left shoulder > left arm> and one important.. in arm itself. Actually in both arms as the rotation of the right arm is also loading the packet.

Once again... nice picture and my words are free to take or leave.

Can't be Hogan - that photo looks to be from the late 60s or early 70s judging by Player's age and bell bottoms. That guy's too young and slim to be Hogan, but Dickinson was 15 yrs younger.

MJ - I was going to post the same thing earlier and I wanted to put up a late 60s picture of Hogan, but didn't have time to find one. No way does the timing on that work out.

Besides his R elbow is waay behind, his right heel is off the ground, the face is shut, the grip is weird, there is a white belt... and this dude is wearing a watch. Is there another photo of Hogan ever playing with a watch? A guy as meticulous as Hogan just doesn't decide to wear a watch to the course out of the blue. No effing way is that him.

Right - I also noticed the shut face and white belt, but missed the watch, which, like you, I've never seen him wear. Oh, and the shoes don't look right either. But it's uncanny how much Dickinson looks like Hogan from the neck up.
