It looks awesome on the site. Would love to go down there and play.

How were the greens? Firm and slow?

Also, what were greens fees? Was it really crowded with slow play?

I don't know about #4 in particular, but on every other course where they've used Champion Bermuda the greens have been very firm and fast right from the opening bell. I assume that they've used Champion on #4, since that's what they've installed at each of the other courses.

Greens were firm as is the case with new Bermuda. I would not call the greens slow but they were slower than #2. But it wasn’t like you had to put a hard hit on the ball.

I was part of a package so not sure on greens fee. But I understand it to be less than 2 but now than the other next group of courses there.

As far as pace of play I was there in its second week and my caddie said our group was the first to get in under five hours. It’s a pretty good walk. I think I ended up at about 11 miles but that might have included some time on the cradle. Definitely a tougher walk than 2.

But we weren’t waiting a ton. Waited on hole 2 because the group in front of us played 1 then played 12 on #2 on accident. Hold up on the par 5 that plays around the lake and then on the driveable par 4. But wasn’t bad.

I didn’t play before the renovation but I really liked the course. Enjoyed it more than 8, still think 2 is my favorite but 4 is up there.

It’s built to be a walking course. Access to and from the tees from the cart path is pretty much non-existent. If you’re cripped’ up and old (like us) bring your caddie.

Just looking at their website - it says Caddies strongly recommend on # 2 and # 4 ( cart path only on both) Rate for #4 is up there quite high also - Looking at a short weekend getaway package soon and #4 is included as option int he packages, whereas # 2 is an upcharge (as it always has been).

Do they REQUIRE caddies on both , or just recommend? Maybe certain times?

Carts have always been allowed on #2, and they've always had to remain on the path. It can be quite a walk from the cart to your ball, as most of us know. I'm assuming that #4 is the same, especially based on your wording, you CAN take a cart, but its a better experience to walk with a caddie. Guests playing without a member in the group aren't allowed to walk unless they take a caddie.

Good deal. Agree 100% , I am all for walking over a cart, but most of the time prefer to walk and carry myself rather than take a caddie. So it also sounds like , from your response, that as a resort guest I would have to take a caddie if I walk.

Carts are cart path only on #2 and #4 and are completely pointless in my opinion on those courses. You will spend more time walking to and from the carts than anything else.

Those courses are best experienced by walking them. If you haven't played them before caddies are definitely worth it as they provide a lot of local knowledge. Caddie fee is $65 and recommended minimum tip is $30 (for a double bag loop). I always play with a member so I have walked without caddies in the past, but i don't know if this is the case for resort guests (my guess is they would like you to take a caddie)

When I played on Saturday on No 4 they were also offering the option of using a trolley (pull cart) which are located next to the 1st tee.

push carts available for #2?

Pushcarts aren't allowed on 2.

i just don't get that ... erin hills is the same way ... absurd, to me, that they don't allow push/pull carts ...

$90 for a single caddie ... any idea what the typical tip is? ... i'm guessing $40 or so ...
