[PRICE DROP] Help me fund a new Mini Driver!!!!

Recommended Posts

This high handicapper just can't hit a fairway with the big stick. He can however find fairways with this SLDR mini driver. For me fairways consistently over distance is what I need. Help fulfill my desire to replace my big stick and current mini driver with a new Taylormade Original One Mini driver!

What is have up for sale is a set of Ping G400 irons 6 thru UW. These clubs have a higher swing weight. So if you like heavier clubs, wanna slow down your tempo, or help stop you from coming over the top then this set may be for you. See club info below -

Clubs - Ping G400 6-UW

Shafts - 6-PW TT DD Tour Issue S400 / UW TT DD Tour Issue S400 Black Onyx wedge shaft

Lofts - Standard

Lie angle - Standard (**notes** - 6 iron bought from Ping is black dot / 7-PW bought from Ping were originally green dot (2* up), but were bent 2* flat this Feb after lessons and fitting. They should now be standard black dot for Ping / UW bought from Callaway Pre-Owned in April of this year is standard as well)

Length - +.5 inches

Grips - 6i Winn Dri Tac Lite Oversized / 7-UW Jumbo Max Oversized (think midsize for comparison)

Swing Weights - 6i D8, 7i D6, 8i D5, 9i D8, PW D8.5, UW Unknown (should be D5/6 based on shaft weight and additional length)

6 iron was bought from Ping and had a Winn Dri Tac Lite grip added to bring swing weight up. 7-PW was built to my specs after Feb fitting at Leading Edge Golf in Okemos, MI. Changed to the current grips after clubs were built. This brought swing weight up. 8 iron shaft was originally not cut to proper length (to long). Had corrected to proper length (+.5 inches over standard). This is why you see 8 iron swing weight lower than 7 iron. Asking $400 shipped. See pics below for clubs condition.

Yo J

I am the exact same. You probably hit your irons really well too. Driver is just different for us but I can promise you the Original One is NOT the same as our Mini’s.

My good buddy bought two, 11 and 12* and I hooked the crap out of them both.

They are super low flight and at address the top line looks square but I could not hit it straight.

Just my two cents which may not be worth that but definitely test it first!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.

Benny B,

I actually hit the original one pretty good when I tested it out at my local shop. Now I don't recall the exact numbers but distance wise it was just as long as my driver on average.

I went through a fitting in February, and couldn't hit the driver at that time either. So my fitter said to come back to him when I felt I could swing that particular club more consistent. Figured I would schedule a appointment with him and see if he thinks it would be a good alternative for me.

My SLDR mini is 12* and I have a pretty good dispersion with it. Shorter, but not in rough, on the short grass, and I feel confident standing over the ball that I will be in play.

What shaft do u have in yours if u don't mind me asking? I took the stock out and put in a hzrdus yellow 6.0 76g shaft in it. Not totally sold on that combo yet. Something has me gravitating towards trying something else.

Hi J

I still play the Mini and its Tour Issue so face is open. (But also had a retail model and loved it) Fairway finder for me and no not driver distance, but I can draw and cut on demand with not losing any distance.

I have a TP6HD in mine with some weight tape on the sole. Not easy to elevate off the turff but don’t care.

The Original 1 was not the same but if it works thats awesome. I could not hit it at all. Everything was hard left and the one I finally got off the tee was a laser beam lol. But to each their own. They are definately longer than the Mini’s.

Just wanted to try and help before you made a big purchase. Always happy to help with my ever lasting losing experiments! =()
