Graphite Design Tour AD DI

got a titleist 909 D2 today..

Hello everyone,

Just purchased a titleist 909 D2 9.5 with the made for titleist VooDoo. Hit the driver today and man, the head is probably the best looking, feeling and sounding driver I've ever had. The shaft is also much better than I expected. I use to play a Cobra s9-1 pro S with a UST Axiv Tour Red 69 and a cleveland hibore XL Tour with a UST Axiv Tour Green 65 in both stiff flexes and surprisingly, the voodoo shaft wasn't that bad. I did notice a couple things tho....

To be honest, the counter balancing in the Tour Red and the tip balancing in the Tour Green were not for me. They are both great shafts and the tour green launches real low and keeps the spin numbers down, but both the green and red just didn't feel "balanced" for me(I guess this was intended...?). The titleist voodoo surprisingly feels nice. It's smooth and easy to load. However, it feels like it isn't completely unloading at impact. I don't know how to explain this situation, but taking a wild guess I'd say that the shaft is...late? So, like most of my graphite shafts I'm looking at other options and came across the Tour AD DI.

I'm mainly interested in how the shaft feels. I'm a big fan of smooth shafts that kick hard, and I heard tour AD shafts(my friend talked about how much he loves his EV) have what I'm looking for. It would be great if anyone who has expreience with the DI can tell me how they feel.

I'm looking to build my driver at 44.5 inches@D2. If I go with the DI, I'll probably use the 70 gram shaft because I would rather be straight than long, and hopefully the added weight will help me acomplish that. My SS is around 103~105. By the way, with the clevland hibore XL Tour, I usually got around 12-14 degrees of launch and about 2900-3100 rpms of backspin. I was pretty happy with it but it did not feel that good and was definitly not forgiving with the 3 degree open face. Also, what can I expect from tipping 0.5 inches off my aldila voodoo ?

Titleist says a 1" tip trim will make the Titleist Voodoo play more like a real one, with a little less spin, and a little lower launch.
