I find it quite sad actually. I am a cancer survivor and former cyclist and he gave alot of inspiration to alot of people and I feel he's really let them down. I did have a chance to meet him several years ago and when I introduced myself and told him that I was also a cancer survivor and thanked him for his work he looked at me like why the f*#k are you talking to me. It was quite a dissapointment but made me realize maybe he wasn't really who he portrayed himself as.

Yeah, Lance sure is a good dude. To those of you don't know who Lance really is and what lengths he went to destroy peoples lives that turned him in, then you need to read this article.

It is very sad and kind of hard to gauge how I should feel about him. Cheating in a sport littered with cheaters is one thing. Destroying people's lives is another. But then you factor in the inspiration he was, and has been, for millions of cancer survivors. The foundation he created, and no you can't take away that.. he was the starter and face of the foundation, raised upwards of $500m for cancer. Its hard because he is all over the spectrum... from some of the greatest acts of generosity in the world to some of the lowest of lows by intentionally destroying the lives of individuals, families, companies.

I have a family friend who lives in California and is pretty close friends with Lance. Back in 2002 he was telling some stories about Lance as a person, you know personal stories some cycling related, most just related to incidents that he was involved with. I got a sense during that Lance wasn't near the perfect, model citizen that everyone wants him to be. I obviously didn't know the extent how deep it went but I got the picture. I didn't believe the guy at first because he seemed like a big talker. Then at dinner Lance called... he handed the phone to me (a 17 year old at the time) and let me say hi. For the 15 seconds I talked to him and he seemed cool.
