Bushnell Pinseeker Rangefinder

Recommended Posts

I agree. Watching personal lessons with the pros on the golf channel its pretty funny how some of the golfers say they are a 2,3,4 handicap but when you watch them they play bogey (or worse) golf for the 9 hole lesson. I know a pro is watching them so it can be uncomfortable, but still. Most of the time peoples handicaps arent close to what the really are. Honor system? what honor system. :russian_roulette:

We could go back and forth about this all day. I still think it's just as easy to cheat in many other ways, shaving strokes, switching balls, improving lies, etc. etc.

Do they trust you to NOT use the Pinseeker with Slope altogether, or do they actually power on your unit and check the specs of it, or do they take your word for it?

Good question...I have yet to play in a real tournament that allows them for use...

withdrew,

I tend to agree with you about the honor system. But the USGA rules are clear: you cannot use a range finder that has the ability to calculate slope even if that feature is turned off. I don't see this rule changing in the future. So, if you ever think you might post scores for handicap purposes or you think you might play in tournaments that use USGA rules, don't buy a range finder that does slope.
Could I get back to the question about the new Bushnell v2? Anybody have any experience with it? How does it compare to TE version? Just saw it on Golfsmith's site.
mhmob,

Well, in my opinion, it doesn't really compare. The Tour V2 is a 5x versus the Pinseeker 1500 TE at 7x. The V2 can hit a flag at 275 yards while the Pinseeker 1500 TE will do 400 yards. For the ?50 or so dollars difference in real world price, I would wholeheartedly recommend getting the Pinseeker 1500 TE. That 2x difference is huge!!

For those that think the size difference is an issue, I find the larger size and horizontal orientation to be an advantage too. The 5 oz. in weight difference is insignificant.
