Well, with my season basically coming to a close with a loss in the first round of match play at the U.S. Amateur I will finally update what is in my bag. I've stuck with the same general setup for the whole year.

The only new clubs that made it into the bag are rotated for course conditions. At the U.S. Amateur I didn't carry a 3-iron and carried an 18* Mizuno Fli-Hi 18* and a 64* Callaway X-Forged. I also picked up a 906F2 18*, a full set of Callaway X-Forged wedges (50*, 54*, 58*), and I still haven't been able to find a replacement for my 905R even though I've tried about 10-15 different drivers in the past couple months.

Also, the Bettinardi's that have been in my bag for the last 13 months have been replaced by an Odyssey Black Series i #7. I can't exactly afford another one due to my tournament and travel expenses, so the Odyssey will be in the bag permanently at this point unless someone decides to give me one.

 

 

For the summer I averaged 73.61 in 33 competitive rounds.

Of those 33 rounds 8 were in the 60's.

22 out of 33 were 72 or under.

And only 3 out of 33 were over 75.

Whats wrong with lead tape on the bottom of a fairway wood? That thing is ridiculous to hit off the deck, let alone off the tee.

Just never seen anyone put it on the sole of the club. If anything that would make it more difficult to hit. If your goal is to increase the launch angle you should put it towards the back of the club.

Thanks Crucible. The weather up here is not very conducive to being on a golf course. Luckily I fly down to Florida for Spring Trip on Tuesday and spend 13 days there and in Mesquite, NV.

I did get to 2 USGA championships with blades through the set in the bag. I might have to grab a set of the new Z-B Forged blended set this week if Titleist will let me order a set. But if I get to Vegas in 13 days and I can't hit my 3-iron, I'm going to AP2's or R7 TP's. I just can't NOT play blades. They're too pretty and feel like my old Mizuno's, maybe better. These don't feel like Titleist irons. Besides, I'm sure I can hit PX 7.0's that frequency out to 7.6 because I was an idiot and didn't realize that PX's get stiffer if they're 1/2" over standard.... :D

Thanks Ben. I'm beginning to become pretty loyal to the Bettinardi clan. I got another putter from Todd and now I only have 4 putters, all Bettinardi's. I just wish I would have found out about the Spring Social in time to make sure that I could come. You wouldn't have known what to do when I hit it past you and spanked you up and down that course.

Had to say this cause I think its funny. My dad graduated from YSU and he isn't proud of it. He also went to Kent which I go to and he wasnt proud of that either so I guess to my dad were both idiots.

After this semester my eligibility will finally run out, and I'm not sure about the professional route yet. I plan on playing in several major amateur tournaments, seeing where that goes, and probably going pro in maybe 18 months or so after 2 more summers of amateur golf and playing in Nationwide qualifiers.

I'm not proud of going to YSU. I was 17, stupid, and my head said "you have to play D-1 golf on a scholarship." I could have gone a hundred other places, but I chose this miserable excuse for a university.

Well, I updated my bag to reflect what I used this summer and also a couple pretty shots of the bag and some bag tags and such.

Updated clubs are:

New 54* and 60* Oil Can Spin Milled Vokey's with Project X 7.0's.

Also, the mack daddy putter - The Odyssey Black Series i #7. Switched about 3 or 4 weeks ago and loving the mallet thing. If I had another mallet I would use it, but I can't get a Squareback and Bettinardi doesn't make anything like this thing.

So hopefully the new pictures amuse you club ho's.
