You should check out Hickory Hills. Its not expensive and very laid back GC. I won a membership there last year and it was the best year ever for me. I'm hoping to join this year but still haven't decided due to some personal things going on right now. If you have any specific questions you can pm me.

I'm a member at HHGC... It's easily the best value in Columbus. Fun, tough layout. Great greens. Laid back, never gets too busy (only 198 or so members). Minimal fees (locker, handicap are free.. No range fee). Food minimum is like $225 for the entire year (not quarterly like most). Right now they have a membership special where you get like 15% off for 3 years... Actually
If you were to join (and luv2golf as well) if you put my game down I also get 15% off haha... Let me know if you want to go out some time I'd love to take you. They have great guest rates as well.

It's certainly a fun course. Can make tee times on the weekend the day before (in most cases) and can scoot out after work pretty much every single day with no issue. The course, in my opinion is a fantastic layout. It's short but plays a little longer due to the angles and narrowness of the fairways. No houses on the course, which in my mind is a great touch. A lot of mature trees.

There are obviously cons though. The clubhouse is bare bones. You aren't joining hickory hills for the high end country club feel. People who join it want a nice, tough, private course at a bargin rate. The course doesn't have the funds to do a lot of major projects. Pretty much what you see is what you are going to get. The greens, fairways and tee boxes are always in excellent shape. They did a fairway bunker this summer and blew up most of the fairway bunkers and rebuilt them from scratch. In my 15 years playing at the course (I grew up there), this was the first major project I saw. The greenside bunkers still leave a bit to desired but aren't terrible.

Anyways, give it a good look. It's a great place at a even better price. Seriously, in the spring if you want someone to play with out there don't hesitate to reach out to me. Even if you join elsewhere, feel free to reach out.

I have some friends that belong to scioto reserve in Powell. Nothing fancy but I really like that course.

Scioto Reserve is a nice track but it's actually fairly expensive to be a member at. I priced a lot of options out last year and found there were significantly better courses that were either the same price or cheaper to be a member at. I was looking at Jr. Memberships since I am 27, but, if I recall Pinnacle and Wedgewood were both cheaper than Scioto Reserve.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
