Tennis elbow, anyone?

Been doing some of the suggestions offered, but mostly not doing anything to aggravate the problem. It feels better, but I think it is just lying in the weeds waiting to spring. I'm tempted to go to the range to hit a small bucket, but I know that's what it's waiting for.

Maybe the course/range has some demo irons that have a graphite shaft. Give them a try and see if it makes a difference. Of course, don't use steel or the experiment will not work.

Also, drivers and fairway woods have graphite shafts (usually) so those can be the concentration.

heres something that will cure tennis elbow - results proven
its called VooDoo floss, and was "invented" by a Doctor who is a mobility guru in the CrossFit industry
I've used this stuff for a lot of "tweaks" and pains, including shin splints
I used to get tennis elbow from doing too many high rep cleans, and after a few sessions w this stuff the pain was gone

Voodoo floss works in many ways, including re-perfusing tissues that have become stiff or gone cold after injury, and by compressing swelling out of tissues and joints.
its super cheap too, honestly check it out it WILL WORK

Helped out a neighbor a few weeks ago shoveling gravel for hours. Now I've got a nagging pain on the outside of my right elbow. I'm left-handed so my right arm is taking most of the impact when I swing. Played last week and every shot hurt. I'm willing to give up shoveling gravel, but this looks like it could put a serious crimp in my game. Any suggestions on playing with this problem, or is it better to lay off until it's healed?

tennis elbow takes a long time to go away, on average, about six months. so if you are willing to give up the season, give you elbow a rest. otherwise, antiinflammatories and an ace brace.

Things aren't looking good
I almost posted a demand that you take back the six-month recovery remark, but you might be right.

I had it and golf was making sure it stayed. Tried nearly all thats been mentioned and rest was the thing that worked best for me, but no golf for months was not an option. The simple fix was jumbo grips, they felt very strange at first but no aggravating the problem and I havnt looked back.

I wonder if jumbo grips cause less tension, less over squeezing and then in your case - less aggrevations?

I have two radically different swings, and two iron sets that I experimented with to find my cause in lead (left arm). Since I can get it heated up in pain with my graphite shafted set, I know it is the swing of which I play way better golf in. That one, with a combo of the elbow angle at the top and the transition down, causes mine. So, I keep trying the other swing, a Shawn Clement version, as it does not torque out the elbow hardly at all, even with my steel shaft set. I play a rotten two strokes/hole worse with that swing!

But, I would like to experiment with the jumbo grip, maybe I could do one club from one of my retired sets (got two) which have steel shafts, but one is heavy and one is quite light in references to current two sets. Since the feel would be so different with wt. and grip size, I won't try this trick on a course - I guess a big bucket of balls with one of those seven irons is calling....

I've posted this in some other threads on this subject, cleared up years of elbow issues in very little time without having to take time off from golf and lifting

I realize this is an old topic but mine has flared up recently without much activity. Then I realized that when I sleep on my left side I bend my elbow and tuck my hand under my pillow. Did some google research and indeed this causes stress on the elbow. After only 5 days of forcing myself to sleep with a straight left arm, the pain is mostly gone. So bizarre. Sharing in case others are suffering same affliction without a known direct cause.

I know it's bad form to resurrect an old thread, but I've developed horrible tennis elbow over the last few months and have been scratching my head to figure out why. I've always hit lots of balls off of mats over the winter, nothing new there. I've always thrown the baseball with my kids in the spring. I've always lifted weights and put strain on my elbows with bicep/triceps lifts. However, I did not consider how I have been sleeping, and your post made the lightbulb go off. I have been absolutely jamming my right hand under my pillow and often wake up with a more sore elbow than when I went to sleep with, which is unusual because sleeping usually helps with pains. Now I have to figure out how to sleep with straight arms!
