Epon AF 302

Walked on today and got paired up with a twosome. Naturally I checked out their bags and one guy had a set of Epon 302's. I asked him about them as you don't normally see those types of irons with a random twosome and it turns out he is a rep for their distributor in the US and sells to component and custom club fitters.

 

Anyway those irons are beautiful and man did they sound good when he hit them. Not much more to the story than that, just thought it was cool to talk JDM clubs with a stranger. Most people I get paired up with don't know jack about clubs, let alone that there is a whole other market of high end offerings in another country.

 

He was surprised I knew what they were, so I told him I spend too much time here and pointed him to the site. Maybe he'll join up. I was reppjng the WRX bag tag and ball marker.

Heh. I had kind of a similar story from the other day... My buddy and I were playing at Pasatiempo the other day. We're sitting at the first tee and there's no starter around so we are just hanging out waiting for the fairway to clear. One of the marshals drives on by and I ask him if anybody is paired up with us and he has no idea. He then sees my buddy's bag which has a bunch of Vega irons in there and he's says something along the lines of "Well if you're playing Vega's...<something something don't really remember>..." and then he asks what's in my bag and I say "Epon." And he had to get out of the cart and come over and look at my bag and was wowed. He says he plays Miura PP9003s and the guys at Spyglass don't know jack about JDM gear and keep telling him to play real clubs. He ends up following us around the first few holes talking about JDM clubs.

He's a great guy and friend. He's the one who got me into K Grinds. I saw him the other day at Pasi and he had three Honma clubs he was demoing, leaning toward the 3 star, but I recommended he hit the 702 before he made a decision.

If he mentioned a woman at the club who plays Epon 302, that would be me

I have the 302s. Best overall irons I've ever played. Feel is second to none... truly.

or sus 316 ^ ... i have 302s and had af tours....

According to Epon, the 316 has a very small amount more offset than the 302. Which has a larger head size?
