Update for 2018.....

 

My handicap has climbed from 16.2-19.6 (playing off 20) last two years, I have got so messed up with trying to improve, hit positions all while worrying every HC qualifying round about my climbing HC.... as a result I got a set of G400s for so off days (I know it is the Indian and not the arrows) but these cluns have given more confidence and after seeing the way GG SwingTips teaches and just concentrating on strike and results as apposed to what it looks like, coupled with getting my hands away from me at address and just letting go I have had a few good scores leading up to 37 & 40 points last two rounds. The only decent rounds I had last summer were team comps, won a trophy for a 4BBB and second in another 4BBB comp, which proved to me that I can play to 16 when there is no pressure, so looking forward to HC qualifying rounds again.

Been a bit quiet of late on here, way too busy with work and family, also foster dogs for a local rescue so....

As my last post in Jan 2018 states, I had been in the doldrums scores wise for most of 2016/17, I did manage to put in a few good rounds end of summer 2018 and dropped my handicap from 19.6 to 18.0

2019 has been a much better year for me, managed to just focus on the basics and try to enjoy the game, a new driver a few months ago (was given it for free by a friend and its weighted, cut shorter and with a Regular shaft) has been instrumental in my scores improving, as around my home course you have to drive the ball in play to score.

Anyway, I have only played 10 rounds this qualifying season (since April) and have buffered 5 of those rounds and only gone up in 3 of them, good news is I have come down in the other two rounds by 3.4 shots

So my Cap is now 14.9 playing to 15.

Its been a long few years of struggle, but for anyone else in similar position stick with it and just enjoy your golf whatever the result, this is a massive step towards playing better trust me, oh and don't forget you basics.

Also judging by the amount of rounds I have played this year, maybe its a good idea to have the odd weekend off golf now and then :)
