Miura: MB5003 versus MB001

Ok. I'm a purist, a superficial purist. Love MBs and decided on getting a set. Will be in Tokyo later in February, so I need some help as the yen makes getting some club heads in Japan even more irresistible.

In your opinion, are there differences between the two?

If yes, what are they?

Is one better than the other?

I ran a search and came up unsatisfied.

Thanks for responding.

Maybe some pics will entice a response.

Here is a link to a review on the MG mb-5003:

http://www.graylynloomis.com/miura-giken-mb-5003-irons-review/

Essentially what I have heard is that that MG line is specifically designed for the Asian (Japanese) market, and the Miura line is for everywhere else.

Here is another link to a discussion:

http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/topic/29524-miura-international-vs-miura-giken-japan/

Hope that helps a little.

I been using MB5003 for a little more than a year and half now. In two words, awesome and great. If I may add another couple words, unexpectedly forgiving. I have no idea how Miura pulls this trick, but it is surprisingly forgiving for a blade. I haven't hit New MB-001 yet, but I heard MB-001 is MB-5003 for America. The price should be cheaper to buy MB-5003 directly from Japan (depending on where you get it from). I got mine through Tourspec and the purchasing experience was very recommendable that I ended up ordering my friend's MB-5003 through Tourspec again. By the way, Miura does a little unique bore thing. So, I recommend getting them 'shafted together' rather than shafting it in a local shop in U.S.

Had the Miura TBs and MG MB-5003s...TBs were a lot better, more forgiving. Not night and day difference, but you'd notice it.

Is there anyone here that have compared the MB-001 vs the TBs and MB-5003s. I'm hoping the MB-001 would be more like the TBs rather than the MB-5003 in performance. The MB-001s look the same as the MB-5003s though.

I'm curious about this as well, ordered a set of baby blades (which I played before and enjoyed) 6-pw and 4-5 cb57. Well I called and put it on hold because after research, help from other forum members, and builders they wouldn't flow well. I keep getting told the bb won't flow with any other miura iron. I'm told to look at the mb001 to flow with the cb57.

I read the wrx main review on the mb001 but haven't found much else on them. Anyone gaming the 001 and loving them?

I have hit the BB , MB001 & CB57s .
The BBs are just awesome but you gotta really want it & be able to strike the ball very well !
The MB001s are also fantastic to hit but are more forgiving as are the CB57s .
If I was going to buil up a combo set with blades and cavities it would definitely be the MB001s & CB 57s .
They both possess a consistency through the shape and feel .
If I had the game for the MB001s I'd play them in a heartbeat !
I went a different way and have ordered a full set of the CB57s .

Thanks batman, I've decided to go the cb57 and mb001 and will be calling it in tomorrow. I will have to flip a coin between Modus 120s or graphite shafts. Seems like everyone who puts steelfibers in the miuras love them

That is going to be a stunning set of irons !
I hit the Modus 120s the other day and loved it !
I personally would lean to it over the S/fiber but that's just me .
All the best with the purchase .
Let us know what you decide with the shaft .

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
