Johnson's Win Big For Some Small Companies

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great Easter and had a chance to catch some of the golf. We’re taking a break from reviews but they’ll be back in full force later this week. Zach Johnson’s win was a big one for a number of golf equipment companies and I thought we’d use tonight to focus on a few of his sponsors… both big and small.

Johnson’s bag is mainly Titleist. Zach used the new Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, Pro Titanium 905R (8.5) driver, 503.H (19.0) utility iron, 735.CM (3-4) and 695CB (5-9) irons, Vokey Design pitching (48) and sand (54) wedges and a Vokey Design Spin Milled lob wedge (60). This is a huge win for Titleist… a company that recently lost one of their big names when Ernie Els left for Callaway Golf. It should also be noted that the Titleist Pro V1 was the #1 golf ball at the Masters.

The company that I’m most excited for has to be SeeMore putters. I had the chance to meet the guys behind the SeeMore brand when I was in Orlando and was very impressed with the line. Johnson’s win combined with a strong performance by fellow staffer Vaughn Taylor is exactly what the company needed. Check out the SeeMore website for more details.

Johnson used a Sonartec SS-3.5 fairway wood at Augusta as well. Sonartec quietly goes about their business and it’s not unusual to find their clubs in the hands of PGA Tour winners. This was the 92nd win for the company and it’s 3rd Major. Not bad…

It was also a good weekend for Canadian apparel company. Dunning Golf is a manufacturer that sometimes gets lost amongst the “big boys” and it was pretty cool to see their logo on the Masters Champion. Check out their line on the Dunning Golf website.
