Problem with my TE Exotics...

Since finally biting the bullet and putting a TEE in my bag (where it is firmly planted), I've opened up a HUGE yardage gap between my 19* Rescue and the 15* TEE. I mean we're talking 50-60 yards....

I'm thinking either a 5 wood or something closer to a 16/17* hybrid.

Anybody have this problem? Any advice for closign the gap some?

Better get the TE 5 wood!

That's why I now cary 3,5 and 7 woods in the exotics. And I have the driver on order. If you check the signature you can see how I've tried to close the gaps.

My next clubs after my 15 degree Tour Edge Exotic are Mizuno MP UX-2 hybrids at 17 and 20 degrees. That seems to make a nice distance transition.

I put the tee 5 wood in my bag and I love it. It is imho the best option.

Ok, so after I rob the bank to pay for all the TEE FW's--- how many rounds do you figure I can get in before the authorities pick me up?

 

But seriously, there has to be less expensivie gap-filler than a TEE, something in the way of a 16* TP Rescue, or even a more traditional 5 wood.

 

Anyone out there find anything?

Try the Tour Edge *Retail, but Tour Version* Iron wood, I'm going to be playing the TEE 3 wood and 2 (19*) iron wood when I make my purchases.

 

TEE 15* distance 255-260

 

Tour Iron Wood - 235-240

 

They were only about 25-30 yards difference for me.

 

The iron wood is also real easy to hit and more control than the 5 wood and not to mention a THIRD of the price!!!

The Supernova FWs are fairly long -- how about their 20 degree 5 wood -- easy to get up and it's long and not as much money -- I put a Fuji Tour Platform 27.3 in mine. See www.advancedgolftechnology.com for more info. See Lowpro for heads or have Chip Usher order a head from lowpro and ask Chip to shaft it. I went that route and the cost was about $220

I play the 15* Exotics and the 20* Supernova. Perfect combo for my bag. Both heads are very versatile (workable) in my experience.

Well think... your 3w is probably 43 inches long were as you rescue is maybe 40 inches.. orcourse there is going to be a HUGE gap.. if you got a 5w most likely it would be 42 inches in length..

 

More important question is whether that gap "needs" to be filled on a day to day basis.... I personally chose a strong 7.
