jacksonville for wedding in July

I'm heading down to Jacksonvillle for a wedding over the July 4th weekend. I wanted to get out at least a couple times to play and I'm not familiar with the area at all (except Sawgrass and World Golf Village). Any suggestions would be helpful and also I'll be trying to practice to get ready for a tournament I have when I get back home so advice on good practice facility would be great as well. Thanks!

Jacksonville is actually the largest city by area in the U.S. so its pretty spread out. Do you know which area of town you are staying in? I live in Jax and can provide some insight but want to get a better idea of which area you will be in.

Hampton Inn off Chaffee Point Blvd, it's offf of I-10 West.

Thanks for the help...the wedding is Saturday evening so I'll probably play Friday and maybe Saturday morning if possible.

It's been several years but North Hampton was a nice track a little south was Grand Haven. Played Ocean Hammock was pricey back then but a very nice course. Just north of Jacksonville in Georgia was Osprey Cove. Loved Osprey, reminded me of some of the low country golf courses in Myrtle Beach. Like I said it's been several years. Osprey Cove might have gone private but it's definitely a look see.

The World Golf Village is a must. King and the Bear is a must play for me, and the Hall of Fame is a must. I could leave the Slammer and Squire, but others like it. I'd take a hard look at St. Johns

Great value in both. Dye's Valley was overplayed and not a very memorable layout for me.

I'm a big Donald Ross fan and like old courses in general. I want to play Hyde Park.

There is no shortage of golf where you're going.
