Tried all of them and ended up with the FT-5. The only thing holding me back was the look of the hibore. Other wise it was a great club. The back is so long I managed to hit it on the turf during my takaway and throw my swing off. The MX 500 was horrible for me. Couldn't get any height out of it to save my life. My 2nd choice of best driver out would be the Ping Rapture. Awesome stick.

It sounds like you really want to like the FT-5 more. If you hit bombs with the Hibore, and were more consistent, I'm at a loss for what you are hoping to achieve. Plus, you can get brand new Hibore's from sponsors here for 200 bucks ... or you can pay 430 for the Callaway

What sponsor is giving the HiBore XL for $200???

TM Qi10 LS 8.25°, Ventus Black 6X, tipped 1”, 44.75”

TM BRNR Mini Driver at 12° (HWF), HZRDUS Black RDX 70 TX, tipped 1", 43.75"

TM Stealth+ 5w at 18.25°, HZRDUS Black RDX 80 6.5, tipped 1”, 42.5"

2023 TM P7MB (4-PW), PX 6.0, +1/4”

Vokey SM10 Raw, 50.08(F), 54.12(D), 60.08(M), PX 6.0, +1/4" - with leading edge grind

Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2, 360g, 35"

thx for the help guys

went to the range today, put a 9.5* xl with gold stiff shaft vs. ft-5 neutral 10* stiff

couldnt handle the repeated metal 2x4 sound of the ft-5, or the low trajectory + hooks

XL: first shot i hit was a bomb, at least 275 with the range ball, baby draw

no contest, XL wins

I normally hit about a 10* or so launch, but the hibore was higher than that for sure (the one i tried)

now i just need to decide if i want 9.5 or 10.5, tour or regular, gold or red shaft :S

I almost decided not to go with the HiBore based on looks and took in consideration the distance and got it. I sort of like the look of it now.

I have the hibore xl and i don't even notice the shape when i comes to swingin time. It blows away my ft 3.

P.S. you would be amazed at how well you hit the ball when you look at the ball and not the clubhead.

I have the HiBore XL 10.5 with the stiff gold shaft. I have hit MANY drivers and this is the best of them all. Straightest driver I have ever hit, my normal ballflight is a draw and this driver I just hit it either straight or just a slight draw. My swing speed is around 95-98 mph and play regular flex in my irons, but the stiff gold shaft is great. Most people on here that I have read, like the red shaft but the gold launches the ball perfect for me. If you are a high ball hitter then the red may be the way to go.

any experience in trajectory/workability (or lack thereof) of tour XL vs. stock XL?

would be much appreciated

I can draw or fade the hibore xl. I have the 8.5 460. Bottom line if you have the swingspeed and the setup you can draw or fade any club. I was hitting big 40 yard draws and 20 yard fades today with hx. tours. It is a very low spin club and i hear the tour is even lower spinning however i can't imagine a much more low spin setup than mine. Hibore xl 8.5 accra se80 44.25

I can't recall offhand. Do a search maybe ? I couldn't believe the price when I read it, but apparently a couple people here had bought them. I already had one, or else I would have moved on it. I don't think it was Discount Dans ... I think it was someone else

I too was hitting low hooks when I first got my FT-5. I was about to give up on it but after some use, the low hooks are a thing of the past. I'm not sure what is different between the FT-5 and other drivers, but a different approach is needed. I changed my release some and it's good to go now. Had my best driving round of all time a few weeks back. Only hit like 2 bad drives which is phenominal for me. The sound is odd coming from an all titanium driver but with the results, I'm not complaining.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
