Are devices with personal club recommendations legal in tournament play

Hi,

 

A lot of GPS apps and devices offer personal club recommendations based on tracked shot distances.

 

Are these devices actually legal to use in competitions? I am not talking about the 'plays like distances' the Garmin 7/8 gives you (which are not legal - Garmindoes not tell you that on their website though).

 

It doesn't give you anything you can't do yourself or what a caddie would give you but I haven't seen anything confirming this yet.

If they are basing the recommendations on actual distance hit and recorded and a statistical computation of those distances (especially during the actual competitive round), then it would be non-conforming.
