Wilson Wil-Win Irons ? ? ?

I assume these were the retail models at some point in time, but they didn't look bad at all. How can it be that there is practically nothing at all here on the net about these things? Anyone know anything at all about them? Years produced, etc. ?

The Wilson Kleersite is from the late 1930's, they are highly regarded. Here are a couple of links--first a niblick:

I think The Wil-Win set would be mini-bullet back seconds, one of the women I play with has a set almost exactly like those but I can't remember the name (except that it's one word.)

I think it's tougher to get information on store lines and "everyday" clubs because the value isn't/wasn't there. And the net prunes information constantly, I got some specs on a set of woman's clubs--Callaway GES, definitely different & short-lived--and the information has vanished, that link now gives a 404 error three years later....

I remember when the GES women's clubs were introduced, maybe the early 2000's. Seven odd looking clubs with a really nice carry bag, I think around $600. I asked the guy at the store if the bag was sold separately. He said no.

Anyhow, I liked the looks of the bag so much, that some years later, Rock Bottom Golf had NOS bags for $35, and around $10 shipping. I bought one, the beige with the maroon trim. The bag also came in a darker blue two tone, not as classy.

My bag is just beautiful, about the same size as my Jones, but slightly heavier, weighs over 4 pounds. What specifically I don't care for, is that it has a plastic structure incorporated into it that makes it very rigid. It does not mold to your body when carrying it, bounces like a staff bag. I would guess that Callaway didn't figure many ladies would carry it; works great with a cart. The carry strap is also a bit sparse, reinforces the idea that it really wasn't meant to carry.

Anyhow, I use it once in a while if I take a cart, which is rare. Looks great as a home to keep vintage clubs, which is its primary duty.

It's hard to believe Callaway would not continue to have specs available, but that's the way business works.
