Canmore buddies trip

Looking for some information on golf in the Canmore area. We have a group of 6-8 people staying for 4 days in Canmore. What are the must plays? Any courses we should avoid?

We don't want to spend like crazy but are willing to play for Stewart creek like courses.

Any info would be appreciated.

I like Stewart, Banff Springs is great too. Silvertip is kinda gimicky. Its been a few year since I've played Canmore GC but I remember it being fun. t

Play Redwood on the way out. Stewart and the Springs are great choices and don't waste your time with SilverTip...it's one of the few courses where you stripe it down the middle and somehow have the ball above or below your feet 6+ inches...

I like Silver Tip, I know that most don't. Yeah it is gimmicky, but some of the tee shots you get are pretty spectacular. It is a fun course to play in my opinion.

Probably not on many to do list but I actually enjoy wintergreen.outside Calgary I enjoy water valley.these are,a,couple of courses that are easy on the wallet and fun to play.+1 to Banff springs.

I've heard good things about the golden golf course but have yet to play there

Has the service improved at Water Valley, had a very poor experience with the pro shop and the marshalls a few years ago and haven't bothered making the drive.

Layout is kinda meh and poor service made me stay away.

My bud had a poor experience at the pro shop at water valley as well but there are some interesting holes,there for an out of the way track.i know it's not related to the thread but how about innisfail as a course for those who have played it?ibe not been there yet.

Innisfail is really good. 27 holes I believe, really nice course. Sundre too if you are in that area. Both are great.

Sundre is awesome, so is coyote creek. Innisfail is gonna be great shape this year. Sundre is in splendid shape. Best I seen this early. Greens were mint.

I agree with the redwood idea. That course is awesome.

I flip with stewart and silvertip. Stewart is more of a pure golf experience. Both expensive, supra singly given the economy.

If you wanna skimp and play some courses, south calgary is great. Heritage and sirroco are fun

Canmore to Sundre is like an hour and a half, great course but that's a pretty decent trek. For logistics and everything redwood is a better option. It's really too bad Kan isn't anywhere close to being back.

That is fact! Regardless, ya better bring a fat stack o cash. That's a great weekend and I am excited for the Canmore courses to open. They should be in awesome shape

I'd recommend, something like the following.

Day 1: Canmore G&CC. Easy, shorter track. Great price.

Day 2: Stewart Creek. Can play at twilight for a decent rate break.

Day 3: Silver Tip. A bit gimmicky, but great views and worth a play.

Day 4: Finish with the best. Fairmont Banff Springs.

There is also a Tunnel Mountain 9 at Banff Springs, which is fun and cheaper than the regular track. Good for a second round. If you want to play 36 a day, play the second round on twilight, makes it more affordable.

If you wanted an adventure one day, you could drive out to Invermere (about 2 hours from Canmore). Play either Greywolf or Eagle Ranch. It's a solid day playing those 2 tracks back-to-back same day.
