I'm all in on the GPS watch. I''ve had my Bushnell Neo-X for over 3 years now and it has performed flawlessly. I check it against range finders whenever possible and it is right there just about every time. So quick and easy. Great battery life on the Bushnell too.

I'd like another try at 25....or was it 26."

I played with the TecTEc for the first time today, and it is extremely sensitive. It is very hard to get the same reading two times in a row. On one hole I had a reading of 147, the next time I pushed the button it said 251 and I never moved.

You were probably picking up something behind the flag. You would like the Tour V3 with the Jolt technology so that you know when you lock on to the flag. If you want to try that, you might want to give Dick's a shot with this coupon:

It doesn't have an expiration date and I'm not sure if you can still use it. People have had hit and miss luck with it, but it's worth a try. It would put the Bushnell at around $184 and they have a 90 day return policy if you don't like it.

Thank you Brimstone! Do you play with the v3 or do you have a gps watch?

I am currently trying to decide between two rangefinders. I have the Bushnell and a Caddytek that I'm trying out and then returning one. I have compared them here:

I like the gps units too, but I like the flexibility of the laser rangefinders more.

I've found the push/release way with the TecTecTec is BadBadbad. It just doesn't lock on the pin at all. I'd get a 200 reading. Then 200. Then 205. Then 200. Somewhere in the first 10 shots, I'd get a real 172 reading.

However, if you hold the button down and scan around the pin - then it becomes useable. You'll see 200....200....200.....172....200....202...172 as you scan back and forth.

I wasted several rounds and shots with the push/release process. Now, with the push and hold and a quick wave, I can use it with some confidence.

So I take it, you are happy with the TecTecTec? I may give it another go tomorrow.

Happy? Well, actually I was happy with my 15 year old Bushnell laser....that thing was so easy to use, and almost always got the pin. But it jumped out of my cart one day. :(

But now that I have the push-hold-wave method working, the TecTecTec is fine.

Does your method work in all of the modes, or one in particular?

I need a new gps but would like a range finder for practice at the range. So many choices, so many decisions.

I just bought a Tectectec during Amazon Prime Day. Used it for one round and I think it takes a little bit of getting used to. i used the press and release way. Like you, I found I had to take a few readings but when I finally got it they were accurate. First time playing with a range finder and I really think it helped my round.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
