Local Men's Associations

Hello all,

I am an Assistant Golf Pro at a muni course in Utah. Our men's association was originally played Tuesday's but with the lack of players 15-35 each week, we decided to move the available playing days to Tuesday-Friday. We announced at the beginning of the year that we understand there would be different conditions (Hole Locations, Tee's, Weather) but we felt it was a good idea to allow the players who couldn't make it Tuesdays only. Our association grew a little, but most of all the current members loved the change. I am hoping you all have some suggestions or experiences with your local men's that would maybe help to grow ours?

We have two nights for men's league because there too many players for one night only

It's great for me cause I cant make certain night like weds. night so having other nights available works for me.

What types of games do they play? Offer any type of deals for members only? Discounts on merchandise? anything like that?

I remember when I got old enough to play in mens night at my parents club the pro would have some fun games. We had one night where there was a designated ball, that was drawn all over and there were 4-5 man teams. Played 9 holes and each team member had to play that ball on their own at least one hole while the rest of the team played scramble. Turned in the combined score. Hit the ball wherever it was OB or hazards. If you lost the ball your team got a 5 shot penalty. Different things like that each week.

We have best ball team play. Runs for the whole season. teams of two . Ours is members only.
