New Clubs

Grrrr...

Ok so I order a set of 775.CBs at a Titleist demo day at a local course, I get hte launch monitor treatment, loft and lie, all that good stuff. Oh and a couple wedges... I wait 2and a half weeks for these clubs. When I get them today WRONG GRIPS!!!!! NOOOOO was gonna get the golf pride decade ones(red/black) And to top it all off I was hitting my driver off the deck, stubbed it and broke my shaft, theres another $125-150 and 2-3 weeks to get that fixed...... Any one else have these crappy days? ;) Eh I dont really care about the grips, the driver is really what made me mad. Oh well.

i'd certainly be bumbed after breaking your driver...

 

i've never even attempted the driver off the deck... i seriosuly see no benefit to it over a 3 wood from the deck...

I feel for you buddy. How did you break the shaft? I'm sure the manufacturer will warranty that, and replace it for free, no?

If a shot required me to hit driver off the deck, a layup is in order instead! Driver off the deck these days has a fine line between awesome and absolutely terrible, there's really no room in-between a solid shot and a worm burner there.

 

Sorry about your driver shaft loss. I had a day where the club repair guy decided to let some epoxy loose in the head of my driver on my reshaft, so I had to wait another couple days for him to fix that, ontop of the initial reshaft wait time.

You broke it while hitting a ball so you should be able to get the club reshafted on warranty. That's the good thing. I'm hitting the driver off the deck a bit lately and am not all that worried if the head cracks cos my club is under a 5 year warranty which means a new driver if it breaks ;). No one heard anything, you here

just don't change your shaft or it will void the warranty.... my 905 R w/diamana whiteboard's face cracked and titleist said NOPE....

Sounds like a pretty sucky day, so to hear that you broke your driver. Titleist should replace it for you. And glad to hear that you got some new irons...even if they have the wrong grips put on them.

Ha i was just messing with you, it could fall in a few forums, and well since you're a junior no sense in making a big deal out of this. Tour velvets arent TOO bad...i prefer the cords... but let us know how that turns out.

Alot of posts from here can go anywhere on this site. Want to speak of the horrors of your busted club? Thats fine. You want to talk about college? Thats awesome. About what you shot? Thats terrific. It can all fit here

 

You answered the point of the junior forum all by yourself mate, "most is just jrs talking to jrs about things that happen daily @ the GC etc."

 

anybody can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the purpose of this section.

yeah i had a big problem with buying new clubs. normally i dont leave bad reviews for shops, but scottsdale golf in manchester[england] are rubbish. i ordered my current irons and wedges from them in november last year. they came up with loads of excuses like, oh we havent got the heads from mizuno yet and such others like they did not have enough grips. i did not get my clubs till march this year and then as sort of compensation they sent me a free mizuno glove, and guess what, it was the wrong size. im glad that i love the clubs because otherwise custom made clubs really are just not woth the agro and constant moaning. buy all custom clubs from somewhere that you can visit and speak to someone in person, it is safer and you get better results.

Ya I'm not too mad I love the new irons, relly soft feel and good workability, the wedges are great too. 56 spin milled satin and 52 bent to 50 satin vokey

 

I'll just get new grips on them in a year or so when I wear out these. shouldn't be too long w/ how much I've been playing
