Weight on your toes will prevent you from turning. I promise...

@Albatross85 In your longline swing videos before you got the weight more back to the balls of your feet, did you have a gap between the legs in the downswing you could see through? Did your right heel lift early? Did you have a tendency to early extend? And now that you are more on the balls at adress you can keep your right foot down longer in the downswing and you roll more on the inside of your foot? Is that correct? I struggle with this and suspect it to be one reason for early extension. Never have I been asked in 40 years of golf if my weight is on the front of my feet.

Btw I know why I am on my toes. I played for decades with to short irons as I have short arms and long legs and no fitter gave me plus 2" clubs

I’d say it’s person to person dependent.

runners talk about this type thing all the time.  Think about how you walk. Do you walk on your toes/balls of your feet  ( favoring your toes ) or do you heel strike first ? I’m a on my toes guy. I have big skinny feet with a very high ( read extremely high  )  arch.  And long monkey toes.  So zero drop shoes are absolutely trash to me.  I need a heel. I choose shoes wisely because of this , and add extreme inserts to support my arches.

said that to say. I can’t go to my heels. I don’t walk with my heels , I don’t run with my heels . No great runner does.  Weights going to be 80/20 toes and balls vs heel.

so it’s person specific. Flat footed people aren’t going to be the same as me.  It’s about where your balance point is.  Not a one sized fits all thing.  I lose balance on my heels. You may lose balance on your toes.  Just walk across  the room normally while paying attention to your feet.   Are you a ninja on your toes or are you a bull in a China shop heel striking and shaking the floor as you go ?

Yeah can not say you are wrong on the individuality there and anatomy seems relevant. I am a quite good example where I think anatomy determines a swingplane. I wear Eccos that have a high heel and I have shoe inlays for my flat feet that are higher then normal shoe inlays. That brings me to my toes, it favors the toes. I can still be on the balls but then the toes feel hanging in the air no pressure on them. Then I have long legs compared to the arms, T-Rex and I play 2" longer short clubs progressing by 3/4" instead 1 inch so my 3 iron is not long as a driver. I found out recently a year ago, no clubfitter gave me 2" longer clubs, they made me bend over more which again brought me further to the toes and I played 38 years like that. So reverse engineering my right elbow behind my chest and my lower arm rotating the club fits the counterbalance? I am getting away with this but I would not get away with a proper backswing. I would loose balance to the front. I will try flat shoes. The blue Adidas are very flat.

Edit and I am also an early extender like Malaska shows from that counterbalance upswing position, making it hard for me to get around the corner. I push and hook, never slice. Front balance on the toes just fits the picture in my opinion as root cause and chain reaction for swing faults.

This happens when the ball lies deeper than your stance, one of the most difficult shots, or if you stand on a pedestal and you swing. This should provoke exactly what Malaska says in the video. I never cared about ball being deeper than my stance I adapt to that since I swing a club.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
