Augusta country club

possible the best course i've ever played and i've played a few. on the 7th hole if you look to your right while on the fairway you can clearly see augusta nationals most famous hole, a beatiuful view it continues to border augusta through 8. the course was started in 1890's the bunkers are incredible, the face on the bunkers are about a 90 degree angle averaging about 4 to 5 feet in height, the coolest thing on the course would be 14th, a 174 par 3 surrounded by bunkers as you approch the tee box their's a plaque the states" in 1932 robert d jones holed in one this hole while playing a foursome in the month of sep" ,

also on 16 the most famous hole the course has is known as the sugar bowl , par 4 389 yards the green hollows out like a bowl, overall very challenging course

Yes. Its a very nice course. I have played it several times. Greens are usually nice and speedy.

To the right of the 9th hole the National is on your right. If you look to your right on the 7th, all you will see is trees....

Played the country club in a junior golf event a few months ago, great shape, easy to score on course

I have a chance to play ACC this March for a pretty good price tag. Is it worth playing once? Would course be in good shape mid March?

Yes... Worth it... I would pay up to $500 for a charity event or $250 guest fee... But $ is different for everybody...

 

Played it a few years ago with member Rick Allen who now is US Rep. for the area... Great stories of the many links to what they refer to as the "National"...

 

Conditions will be starting to get better mid-March... But weather is variable....

 

As said, #8 crosses the famous Rae's creek at the green.... #9 runs along the back of #12 green and #13 tee on the National... Even #10 tee may show a few glimpses...

 

Very notable... #9 COULD be sold to National and a new hole created in woods to left of #9....

It has been sold already. The new #9 will go to the left and dogleg a bit to the right to get you down to #10 tee. It is a great course, a blast to play and the new #9 will actually be an improvement to that course.
