Fort Myers / Naples advice

I’m heading down to Fort Lauderdale mid week for work and planning a stop off on the way down to tee it up. I go down often, so eventually I will play all of them, but wanted to see if any first hand advice for the first go around.

 

Which one should I play first? Thanks in advance.

 

- The Plantation Golf & CC, Ft. Myers

- Verandah Club, Ft. Myers

- River Hall CC, Ft. Myers..or close enough

- Golf Club of the Everglades. Naples

I just noticed that Panther Run is on the list as well and not to far from Alligator Alley.

I've played Panther Run. It is a nice course for a relatively inexpensive public course in that area since they are few and far between. It is kinda in the middle of nowhere though

I like Panther Run, Verandah (Old Orange) and River Hall. I haven't played Plantation or Golf Club of the Everglades, so I can't comment on them.

 

For a real test, Old Corkscrew is a must play.

I have played all of these courses and this is the order I would rank them. Everglades is most private. Verandah very nice. River Hall kinda out there near nothing. There are better courses, closer to the Highway aka Verandah. Plantation is nice but nothing like the other two. Don't waste your time or money at Panther Run. Basic public course.

1. - Golf Club of the Everglades. Naples
   
2. - Verandah Club, Ft. Myers
   
3. - River Hall CC, Ft. Myers.
   
4. - The Plantation Golf & CC, Ft. Myers
   

I would add to the list Raptor Bay and Old Corkscrew. I would choose Old Corkscrew above all, next Golf Club of Everglades.

Thanks for the replies.

 

Played Everglades and was very enjoyable. Played like crap, 42-36, but hey, it’s not a day job.

 

I enjoyed it enough I’ll probaly play it again next time down,
