Hi.

I've been a long time reader of the forums, for the basics: which irons should I buy? What does someone think about this driver? How old is my putter?

I joined to get more involved. Post my opinion on subjects and to provide a perspective from the less-than-average golfer.

My story starts about 10 years ago as an 18 year old. I bought a set of Top Flite HCT tour clubs (cast stainless shovels) and enjoyed good results. Shot my best in the 90's and had fun scoring in the 100's.

Fast forward to last year where I had played golf as a yearly event. No time to get on the course with work and other sport commitments. Played an annual round with other teammates at an end of season trip.

In my quest for that "feel" everyone talks about. I picked up a demo Mizuno MP33 6i from the bargain bin for $20 and decided to give it a hit. Wow, first ball was flushed and rocketed straighter, flatter and further than anything I'd ever hit before. Went back to the clubhouse straight away to pick up the others that were sitting in the bargain bin for extra cheap.

Got a lesson and swing assessment and found that I catch the ball closer to the hosel than perfect center. I'd read on here that the MP37 was heel biased and suited my game perfectly. Found a used set on the bay for $150 that were in fantastic condition and have been firing balls on the center of the fairway since.

Technically I shouldn't be hitting blades but the feedback you get from these clubs is more telling than anything you'll get from GI/SGI clubs.
