Swing imbalance advice

I changed my swing last week on the advice of my PGA coach. It has had a massive impact on my swing for the better although it has slowed me down by around 10-15mph. I started doing exercises to increase my swing speed back to where I think it should be, but I have noticed that my left arm seems to be hindering my right arm somewhat. It feels almost as if my right arm is now trying to push through my left arm, the left arm feels like it is holding the right arm back. I'm a right-handed golfer.

Does anybody know what could be causing this and how I could go about correcting it?

Like could this be caused by say a muscle imbalance because I have been swinging the club a certain way for some time. If this is so, how long is it likely to take for my body to readjust and are there any exercises I can do to speed up the process?
