Reg flex & driving iron-anyone playing? Which model & loft?

Assuming the argument hybrids & fairway woods are more forgivable for slower swing speeds, anyone bagging a driving iron (not a 3 or 4i from a set)? Just curious. With all the videos and talk in the equipment & club tech main forums, wondering if any of us mere mortals are playing one.

I hit my 3 and 4 irons really well and very rarely use a 3 wood. I have been considering building my own 2 iron with a Titleist T-MB and repurpose an old Diamana 65 gram. I currently have 716 CBs with X100 shafts. I just feel like my 3 wood is wasting bag space.

I am assuming if you are playing X100 in irons, your driver ss is 103+. I suspect why no replies for driving iron with regular flex shaft is a golfer's swing speed is not fast enough to elevate the ball given the clubs low loft. Thanks for your comments.

Srixon U Z65 4i and 3i with regular Miyazaki 7 regular in both, 4i is a high ball flight and Ok distance, but I struggle with the 3i to be honest

been hacking an Apex UT 21* for a while now just put in a Dynamic Gold 105 S300, its a great club, looking into a 24* for that bag & really considering X Forged UT 21 - 24 & 27* with that shaft for game bag.

 

have used R300 before in the 21*, club acted like a roided up 7i not a 3i so reg flex wasnt for me in that.

I use a couple of Maltby FDI heads in 23, 21, & 19 degrees with Nunchuk drivers shafts that replace my 5i - 3i in my Apex set. They are great for me, but I am a high flight hitter and these have a much better flight and are way more accurate for me than most hybrids. I use these off the tee and off the turf, and have greatly reduced the use of my driver and 4W. Hitting one of these long irons are just way more reliable and I end up in the fairway almost every shot. Can't say that for my driver or woods. My driver speed is in the 95-100 mph range on my good days. Off the tee the 21 degree club is about 210 yards long. I tried one head originally in my iron shafts but they were too wimpy to give me any accuracy, the Nunchuk's are what I have been hitting in my hybrids and woods for 10 years and they work great in a driving iron!
