JDM Shoes

So I need new shoes. I looked at some of the Nikes and I want a sneaker like shoe, but they got really expensive and for cheap looking and feeling shoes. I can say the same for all the shoes mostly at golf store and I am done with Ecco after my last pair went to crap early.....

Sooo. Anyone here get any JDM shoes? They have some cool ASICS and mizunos and even Callaway I have not seen here at all. Is there any sizing warnings? I am really worried about nailing a size based on a chart for an item I can’t return and will need to sell on eBay. I do think it would be cool to have some shoes that are basically unavailable. I was going to look into European as well. But sizing is scary for sure. I wear a 10.5-11.

The asics hybrids are great. Comfy, durable and good traction. Use a size converter for Japanese sizing. Get a half size bigger.

I was also debating some asics since that normally what I wear, but didnt know if I could just order the size I usually wear.

After US size 11 it gears dicey. 29 in Japan is about the Max available in most styles.

I wouldn't go looking for JDM when it comes to Americans feetses... Sorry you had issues with Ecco but they are the best I've encountered.

Asics are very good indeed.

Note the Asics you get off Amazon in the US are made a bit cheaper for that market (I first had Japanese Asics then got a 2nd pair from Amazon when over there for a trip). Nothing too dramatic - a cheaper foot bed in them, so I swapped them round form my first Japanese pair to the new US pair.

The size is easier if you use the sensible Japanese foot size numbers, which are essentially 'Mondo' (also used in ski boots), so metric.

Mondo should be in mm, but the Japanese is usually in cm and refers to foot length.

Easy to do at home - put a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall/skirting board. Put your foot on the paper, heel against wall. Mark paper at the end of your foot/big toe, then measure in mm/cm and there you go.

You can compare to online size charts to change it to the other bizarre US/UK/EU foot size numbers if you want.
