Repairs to the lining/padding of golf carry bag?

I have a Callaway carry bag that I have only owned for about 2-3 years (can't remember the exact date of purchase). It is a good bag and is still in good condition but the lining in the sleeves where the clubs sit has worn through to the plastic in the top of the bag (where the driver, fairway wood and hybrids sit) and the bottom sleeve where the wedges and putter sit. Now the wedges and putter have steel shafts so I'm not too concerned about them but I'm worried the exposed plastic could cause abnormal wear on the graphite shafts of the woods. I noticed part of the cushioning in the top of the bag has velcro straps as if it is meant to be removed and replaced once it wears out. However I have not been able to find anything about that online. Also that is not the part that is rubbing on the club shafts. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with repairing/replacing the worn lining?

It seems a shame to replace the whole bag because a. the rest of the bag is still in perfect condition and b. this is a secondary bag for me. I play all my club golf with a cart bag and this bag is only used for lazy casual rounds like 9 holes after work or a few practice holes. Seems poor that it has worn out so badly in such a short space of time given it's relatively light workload.
