Question for Apex CF16 users

Got my hands on a new set and plan on gaming them this year. Only have been able to hit them on a simulator, but find them to be long, consistent, and flying quite high which I love. The shape, finish and the looks i also love. However, my spin numbers are quite low.

do you u guys find the height and steep descent angle negates this low spin, or do u have issues holding greens in the real world? I can’t wait to try them out on the course.

with a little searching you can find tons of info on this topic here and elsewhere. However...

if you hit the ball high enough you should be able to hold greens no problem. That’s not really the issue. What you may find (as many have posted) is that in real course conditions you may catch balls sometimes that are so low spin that they create a “flier” effect. If they’re low spin on the launch monitor they’ll be even lower in situations like fluffy lies, dew on the ball or grass, etc.

With that said I think this is overblown a bit unless you’re a tour pro. Even then, some LPGA players have used these and I know plenty of low cap players that have and do as well.

Overall it’s a good iron if you want a distance iron in an attractive package.
