Fayetteville Clinton Area

What good golf clubs are there to join in this area?

Play Anderson Creek, it's a nice course. Also go up 87 towards Sanford and try Carolina Lakes.

I don't know many of the Fayetteville courses, but those two are worth considering IMHO.

I am currently in Iraq but I have played just about every course in the Fayetteville area. Without question Anderson Creek and Bayonet at Puppy Creek are the two best courses in the area. I consider them in the top tier to play. My second tier would include King's Grant, Cypress Lakes, Carolina Lakes, and Baywood. King's Grant has just changed ownership so there are some real growing pains there. I stopped playing there as a matter of fact until they got their act together. I really like Baywood. The greens are some of the best in the area. Cypress Lakes has had it's ups and downs too. They are the only course in the area that has built in GPS to the carts. Anderson Creek is a steal to me. I am retired military and they offer a military discount 7 DAYS A WEEK. This is fantastic to me. Bayonet will cost you the most to play on this list of course (closer to $50). The second tier will run you around $30-$40 on the weekends and around $20 on the weekday with a cart. My third tier of courses are places like Hope Mills muni, Ryder, Willow Lakes, and Stryker. The last three are on post (Ft Bragg/Pope AFB). The greens are not in that great of a shape. Good layouts with poor greens. I usually walk these course in the summer (when I am not deployed) for a different challenge. They are cheaper then the others but there is a reason for that.

I did not include Wood Lake, Tobacco Road or any of the other stuff in the Pinehurst area. Those course are all fantastic for the most part. I played the Palmer Wood Lake course and that was a challenge to say the least. It is a bit further out but not too far from Fayettevile. The great thing about Fayetteville golf is that Pinehurst is about 45 minutes (MAX) away. Plus you have all of the courses listed above to choose from within a 30 minute drive.

My two favorite couses in that area are Bayonet and Anderson Creek. Both are great layouts that we play everytime we are in the Sandhills.

Where in NC? I have played Anderson Creek and Carolina Trace too, both are very challenging, demanding courses. They get my reccomendations as well.
