I can't seem to upload photos from Android 10

I've used the search function and haven't found a topic that seems to fit, but apologies if I missed a few.

 

When I try to upload photos from my Pixel 2, it shows the status bar but nothing shows up except a preview icon that leads to no image when clicked on. Am I just doing it wrong? I'd love to give you a screenshot to demonstrate but, you know...

 

While I'm asking, how does one edit photos already uploaded if the wrong one is selected? I can't seem to delete the preview icon either and don't want to inadvertantly spam you all with pictures of my kids.

Edit 2: to clarify the issue, I had a Google Pixel 2 and was unable to upload photos from local file storage or the Photos cloud in both Dolphin browser and Chrome. It turned out the problem was that the browser file sharing permissions were enabled but, for whatever reason, the phone was blocking the file transfer and not giving me a dialog box or error code explaining this. The result was going through the process of the upload and just never receiving an image in the post at the end of it. Solution below.

 

Edit: found the solution, in case anybody else experiences this in the future. Go to Settings>Apps>Your Browser (Chrome in my case)>Permissions then deny all permissions and re-enable them afterwards. File sharing works properly again from both cloud storage and local files.

Average size is 4.3MB and I'm just trying to add one or two

Instead of "Camera" go to "Gallery" where you saved the photo.

Select the photo you want from Gallery and it will be saved to your post.

Edit: looks like I can't even use Photos links and "Insert image from URL" as a workaround.

That is likely the problem.  On my Android I have Gallery where photos are saved and selecting from there works fine.

Try saving to a file on the phone and using that instead of Google.

Still nothing, even when downloaded from the cloud and uploaded directly from the Download file folder.

 

Jpeg, 393kb, no reason it shouldn't work, yet here we are.

There is a small "garbage can" in the lower right corner of the pic.  Click to remove.

Well, I fixed the images problem by just removing all permissions for the browser and forcing it to ask me again if it was allowed to file share.

 

Now I just need to fix that pesky problem of not being able to remove quotes or spoilers from my reply box and I'm laughing

No.  I believe you can edit a Quote box however.
