Return to LPGA tournament status

Maybe I am bad at searching....

 

But checking to see if any updates on some Koreans returning to the LPGA.

 

i know JY Ko is planning to return at the start of December, after revving up on the KLPGA for November.  So excited to see her!

 

Does anyone know the potential 2020 LPGA return status of:

HJ Kim

SY Ryu

JEun Lee6

 

Really enjoy watching their games so just curious.

I am not aware of any specific plans, either way.  However, I don't follow the Korean press closely.  At this point, my default is that none of them are willing to leave ROK this year.  Caveat being I am surprised JYK is willing to start in the U.S. later this year vs. next week for the KPMG (given that she's already won ANA and can see the argument for skipping that one if don't really want to travel).  I also know the USWO is at another level for these specific players but still I don't see the reason to start a month later...

I suspect JYK was talked into it, sorta.  She is #1 so they would probably like her there.  But the LPGA added a sweetener, they are now giving 2 sponsor exemptions for the  CME and it looks like they are for JYK and Sophia Popov.  So JYK will get 3 events guaranteed and probably made the decision worth it to travel for a short appearance in the US and a chance at big pay checks.

The only reason those three players will return to the US this year is to play USWO on December 10-13.

From USGA.org website:

 

When will entries be open? 

Entries will be accepted from October 7–November 11. 

 

We'll know whether anyone of those three register by November 11.

Jin Young Ko, Jeong Eun Lee6, Hyo Joo Kim and So Yeon Ryu have all entered the field of Volunteers of America Classic scheduled for December 3-6, 2020.

It's one week before US Women's Open.

I'm surprised they didn't play this week.  The USWO is different, but not that different.  Maybe the layoff (don't want to twiddle thumbs in USA for better part of two months) was enough to swing the balance.  Good to see that they will be back though🇰🇷

Have you been following KPMG, it's been dramatic.

A win would've put Sei Young Kim at such a lofty historical position.  She'll be encroaching on Jiyai Shin's territory.

MJ Hur is entered also.  I apologize for forgetting about her.  The last 2 years her improvement has been so great to see.  And I have seen her in person at the 2018 Women’s PGA, she is much taller than she looks on tv.
