GC Quad + FSX vs E6 Connect

My dad has an indoor set up with the quad and fsx. I am looking into buying the E6 connect software through Foresight but wondering a couple things:

 

1.) FSX cups seem like they are made of concrete. It is not the end of the world, but I have inquired to Foresight to see if there are any software development plans or settings for this and so far I have not heard back. Wondering if anyone has the same experience? Also any experience with E6 physics - is it the same or better than FSX?

 

2.) Has anyone purchased the E6 connect software through foresight? Worth it?

Foresight just reaped the next version of FSX, called FSX Play.  While the current release feels VERY beta, they know the software needed updated and are rebuilding from the ground up.  I wouldn’t invest in E6 right now, I’d give them some time to finish FSX Play.  Based on their goals for improvement I expect a super polished final result.

Thanks! I just looked into it and that seems like the route to go. As you said, I will have to wait out the development. It looks like only 2 of the courses we have is currently available.

FSX play is amazing in comparison to standard FSX. Despite the limited courses, the gameplay is substantially better. Last I spoke with Foresight, they mentioned that they hope to have a massive library of available courses to play by the end of this year.

Care to share what you think is improved over 2020 outside of graphics? For me 2020 is pretty solid outside of the concrete cups like I mentioned before haha

Hazards such as bunkers, trees or others are actually real. You can't just hit through trees now. 

 

Also, if you set gimmie ranges, they show you the circle to get inside which makes it so much easier for putting and chipping. 

 

I feel like elevation and wind is so much more realistic too in comparison.

For others interested, I did reach out to Foresight with questions and found:

• They anticipate it will be a 1-2 year process of creating all the current FSX 2020 courses to FSX play.
• If you buy and download FSX Play the current courses are:
  • https://www.foresightsports.com/support/software/fsx-play#course-installations
• Foresight is actively sending out update emails to FSX Play owners when new courses become available.
• You will have to activate and download the courses when they come available independently. There are no automatic push downloads.
• FSX 2020 and FSX Play owners will have independent launch icons on your desktop so you can play both through the transition period and beyond. 
• Ball and cup interactions are improved on FSX Play

 

Appreciate the help from everyone! It seems like a no brainer if you are looking for an upgrade to get FSX Play over the other options

Update: Finally downloaded FSX Play and for the price it was worth it. You can definitely tell the software is in its infancy. I have had it crash a couple times (seemed more frequent than FSX 2020) while playing and had to recover my game. Overall happy and I think with time and new versions it will be a great upgrade.
