Stack and Tilt...I tried a version of it and her are the results!

Ok, first let me say that I am a 1 handicap that has always been a fairly decent ball striker. I noticed that I wasn't catching my irons very crisp any more, so I started experimenting with a change in my swing. I have always hit a high fade, that can become a little exaggerated at times. I used to hit a draw, but switched to the fade to become a little more controllable. Well, it has been getting out of control recently.

I noticed while goofing around on Thursday when I had to hit a 165 yard rope hook out of the trees that if I stood hard on my left side, I could hook the ball again and that I always seemed to make really good contact with that swing. That got me thinking about the stack and tilt. So, on the range Friday morning before my round, I tried holding my weight to my left side and producing an earlier wrist ****. The first ball takes off dead straight...so does the next...so does the next. Everything seemed to be going dead straight. Well, that was all fine and good for the range, but how would it translate to the course? I figured I would give it a try for 3 holes and if it didn't work, I could switch back to my old swing.

I was -1 through 3, so I stayed with it for the entire round. Shot 68 Friday with 6 birdies. Once again, it was all fine and good for 1 round, but could it be repeated again the next day.

Went out Saturday and shot 67 with 6 birdies. I think I am going to stick with this swing a little longer. It seems to be the cure for what ailed me.

That's great Chilidog! Wish I could fade the ball with my irons sometimes, I have a 2 index and everything I hit (and I mean EVERYTHING) has a slight draw to it, the only fade I hit is when I have messed up somewhere, I have worked at the end of last year and weather permitting I will do it this spring, on learning to fade the ball, I may try just the opposite you have used and maybe I will learn to hit it straight or a little fade! BTW nice rounds! :) :D

Very nice! Are you using the same swing with the longer clubs too, or just the irons? I've been using S&T for the last year and the toughest part of it is with the driver & fairways.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
