St Andrews 7 Day Ticket

Accomodations are booked for next July.  Has anyone done the 7 day ticket for the SA Links courses.  I know you have to purchase the first day of play, but with no tee times booked prior to arrival, are tee times easy to get for the next 7 days for the courses or are they pretty full for that week already?  We'd like to play new, jubilee, castle, etc with perhaps a second round on another course later in the day with sundown being so late.  No car rental yet, but would we be better off traveling to nearby courses and have all tee times prebooked ahead of time.   Just a little nervous to do the 7 day ticket and have no prebooked golf for the trip.   Thanks for some insight.

Just buy the 3 day Advanced time ticket. This lets you book one tee time each day in advance to your arrival then you have the option to play more after that round. You have a 7 day window to play your 3 advance tee time rounds, so it would give you the flexibility to play other surrounding courses and flexibility for the 48 hour ballot or walk up for TOC.
