iron length

Have a set of zx5 and i put +0.50 length. Missing a lot of greens so i took that half inch off and i find im now drawing the ball with a much better ball flight. Might lose 5 yards carry but it seems to be a nice improvement. Anyone else shorten or lengthan irons?

Of course - it's just a matter of what fits.

 

Been that way since Old Tom Morris had a shop.

Important to match length and lie, I wouldn’t worry about distance gains or losses as a reason to do it or not, consistency is most important. I’m tall enough I have to have extra length.

All my irons are an inch longer but I got them lengthened before hitting them from a fitting so no idea what it would have been like before but the dispersion is good unless I put a bad swing on it.

I did a fitting with the guys who make Avian. They put me a half inch over and I've been liking it a lot. I'm just 5'8" but my arms are really short.
