Coeur d'Alene - which course?

Probably should put this in the correct region.

CDA Resort course or Circline Raven? Only have the opportunity to play one of them over the 4th so which would you suggest? Sounds like Circling Raven is the better of the two but there's something about that boat to the green.

If I had 10 rounds I'd play Circling Raven 8x. Couer d'Alene is still great and if you choose it you'll have a good time. The conditioning is about as good as it gets and you think about that tee shot on 14 for the first 13 holes. But Circling Raven is a better, more fun golf course IMO.

Agree with Kas. Circling Raven is a better overall course, CDA resort has better “moments”. If you’re doing it on the actual 4th of July, downtown CDA can be a zoo. A ton of extra people come in for the fireworks on the lake.

Will not be playing on the fourth, that's for lake time. Figuring out the rest of the dynamics for tee times sandwiched between the holiday and Ironman. How's the course at Hayden? Hopping over there with friends as well.

Avondale? It’s fine, standard course winding through houses. Not as good as Raven or the resort.

Agree with everyone else's comments Circling Raven a better golf course, but the experience of the boat and some of the other par 3 @ CDR are pretty amazing! The conditions are spectacular there as well, but very much a resort course!

I caddied at the resort for a few years, if you are a 10+ handicap it is a good time and worth the money. Below that and the course is pretty easy for you and rounds are very long. If you are a good player and want a fun test with great conditions, circling raven is the one.

Thanks for all the replies. Was bummed to miss Hayden CC but Avondale was a nice enough warm up and a good break from desert golf here in AZ. Course was in solid shape and proved to be a pretty fun track. Circling Raven was absolutely amazing in every regard. Perfect course conditions tee to green, great layout, truly remarkable. Will plan on hitting the resort next summer when back in town again during golf weather.
