Scotty cameron phantom 5 2014 vs 2022

Messed sround with the 2022 phantom 5.5 and loved the way it sat and felt off the face. Didnt love the amount of toe hang on it. I am a lefty and  unfortunately they dont make the 5 in lefty except for 2014. On the scotty website it looks like the face is still 303 aluminum. Are there big differences between 2014 and 2022? Is it just as stable? Does it sit just as well behind the ball?

The heads are both 303 stainless steel, with an aluminum bottom sole plate. So they're essentially the exact same. Overall weight could be a bit different, idk, but honestly I prefer the weighting of older Scotty's - that's just me though

Good question.  They do look really similar.  I prefer the alignment aids on the 2014 Futura X5, which is currently in my bag. (Especially when painted yellow!)

Bought the futura x5 used. Its on its way. I like the idea of painting alignment with a bright color. Ill probably go with red

Nice! As an FYI, I painted right over the gray OEM lines with acrylic paint. I believe my custom work can be reversed with a bit of rubbing alcohol. 
 

Red should look great - post a pic when done!

Yours looks pretty clean, but have you ever buffed out or removed nicks and scrathes? The one i bought is in great condition but after 7 years, its not perfect

Indeed, this is a clean one. I paid a bit more due to the condition plus it is a Japan Early Release model that came with a cool headcover.  (Others may have to comment on light restorative work.)
