Differences in where lead tape is applied on the putter head

I am going to mess around with making the putter head on my Huntington Beach 4 a little heavier. I toyed around with a buddies similarly styled Anser with a heavier head and liked it. I am torn on where to apply the tape. I see people do it on the sole, and I have no issue with that, but I kind of want to apply it along the white sightline to get rid of it (another experiment). I've seen people (read: Tiger) put their tape in the cavity of a blade putter which is also an option. Thoughts?

I think a piece of lead tape on the sightline would be more distracting than the line itself, but lead tape is cheap so easy experiment

If you want a lot of weight added sole is probably the best option

Just placed lead tape in the cavity behind the head a couple of weeks ago. Haven't putted this well. Ever!

8 birds in three rounds. Thats a huge number for me.

Had to adjust for lag putts. Took 9 holes.

Suggest you add a little at a time. Can always add more.

added note: the QB6 was cut down about 1.5/2 " I added 6 grams... I think lol

On the back of the face, if your model allows is. Sole is OK, but it wear off and stuff and can drag as it gets rough edges from wear.

Weigh it with a gram scale, if you have one. You don't have to press it down with all of your might until you are sure that you like it. Multiple layers works fine too. You can use a bit of heat to get it off with no trouble. If you decide that you don't like it, it is easier to get off sooner rather than later.

If you like it, you can get a model with weights next time. I have always been a Zing or Laguna guy, so after adding lead tape to an older Laguna, I got a newer model and put 40g weights in it.
