West Palm 12/14-12/17

I have a wedding to go to in west palm beach that weekend and am looking to bring the clubs as I will be going down solo without the wife. How difficult will it be to get tee times that time of year?

What courses do you recommend?

also is The Park worth it? Been seeing it a lot on Instagram and it looks pricey. Looks like a fun track and would love to play it. I will more than likely be playing as a single so hopefully that makes it easier to get out.

The Park is a must. It isn't cheap but it is way better than any other public offering in the area.

Must Play:

1. The Park

2. Palm Beach Par 3

Good options:

Jupiter / North Palm Beach:

1. North Palm Beach

2. Abacoa

West Palm Beach / Palm Beach Gardens

1. Park Ridge - built on an old land fill.

2. Sandhill Crane

3. Atlantis

4. Atlantic National

Stuart / Port St. Lucie

1. Florida Club

2. Lost Lake

Of the options outside of the Park and PBP3 I would play North Palm and Abacoa - but they are likely the most expensive next to the Park. Make sure you get a round on the walking Par 3 course at the park and play the putting course.

Tee times shouldn't bee too difficult. Just call 10 days in advance and see if they can get you on the book.

Agree with the others - Park gave me Ohoopee vibes. Unlike anything else public down here, then NPB or Abacoa in no particular order.

I actually would add Sandhill Crane as a step a little below those two, along with a few options further north in the Stuart area (FL club, Champions...), then Atlantic National, Palm Beach National and Osprey Point, then Park Ridge or Okeeheelee.

Played The Park yesterday for the first time and I am still reeling from how great of an experience it is. Probably the most fun course I've played outside of a resort. The conditions were perfect, the design was beautiful, and the entire "vibe" just hit the spot. Its so unique for South Florida too with those undulations and not having any water on the course. Yes its pricey for an out of stater ($220) but its worth every penny.

Not necessarily in line with OPs question, but does anyone know what is happening with that Banyan Cay (where the old President used to be) course?

Sorry I should have clarified.  I saw that, but reading that article I can't tell if the course is open, if it has been open and is currently closed...

Pretty sure it is currently open. The condition as of a few months ago was horrible. Hopefully they can turn the course around.

Wow, that is insane.  Were they too focused on the hotel they forgot about the golf course?  Could have made serious bank the last three years with a functioning course.

They course has been open, and I still think they have a decent size membership with high initiation / dues. The condition of the course did not reflect the asking price.

So is this a "private" set up similar to PGA National?  (ie resort guests can play?)

That is my understanding. However, there have been no Resort Guests since it opened in 2017 or 2018. Who knows when they will actually have a functioning resort.
