Question about TORQUE. Please Help!!!

Hey guys, i need help in regards to finding the right amount of torque in my shaft. Right now,its between a zcom tw64 and tw74. The 64 has torque 3.4 and the 74 has 2.9. I have been using a grafalloy prolite 35 that has 3.5 torque. My misses usually duck or hook left. Can the torque be partly responsible for my hooks? Also, I have hit the speeder 757 and other fujis in stiff flex and found them to be too stiff. Is it just me or are fujis known to play a bit stiffer? my ss ranges from 100-105 and can drive the ball 265-275. My question is if i choose to play a regular flex tw64 or tw74 but put it in a extended hosel bore thru, will it play stiffer being that i will have to either trim on the end or the tip? Thanks for your help guys, i really need to know this.

I play a rombax which is 3.6 and have a slightly higher SS then you.. I do agree about the 757 which is 2.5..you might want to think about MW64 @ 3.2 or BW65 @ 3.3 if you want to stay in fuji. I would just go untipped stiff at your SS .

 

oh 660TR at 3.4 is another winner in that weight range

Most of the Fujikura Speeders ( e.g. 757, 952..) are aimed at the low handicappers and pros. The stiff flex of these shafts can be compared with the X of most of the " Standard shafts" ( what I mean are those shafts that fit a 90 -100 mph SS in stiff flex ).

 

When a shaft is built into a head with bore thru and a hosel, like for example all those Titleist drivers, YES they do play stiffer.

 

Torque doesn't really affect the sidespin. The lower the torque the more precise the shots will be as the Head is more resistant to twisting. BUT 1. nowadays even higher torque ratings are not really "high" meaning they will cause your ball to be terribly out of line, 2. If your driverhead is not touching the ground = You are not hitting your drives " heavy " or " fat " you can definitely choose more torque as the only

obstacle in the clubhead's way will be the ball.

 

Choosing the right Torque for your drivershaft, I think, has a lot to do withg what kind of feel you prefer.

 

The higher the torque the softer it will feel in consideration of the chosen flex ( A xx shaft with high torque isn't really going to give you a really soft feedback, you know what I mean...)
