Spain Golf - Madrid or Barcelona

Hello! Wanted to get some input on potential courses near either Madrid or Barcelona! Wife and I are going on a trip and this will be our first time in Spain. Typically we reserve one day each to do our own desired thing and I will be golfing! 
 

We are heading our November 1st and will start in Madrid then work our way over to Barcelona then finish in Florence. Have golfed near Florence so looking at somewhere Spanish.

 

Any course recs that are somewhat easy to get to from either city that are nice? Let me know what I should do!

When I was in Barcelona with the wife I had the same idea. Club St Cugat is a train ride out of Barca and quite a good members course.  But the best option is to go a little further north to Girona and play the PGA Catalunya which is top shelf and more expensive.  Can’t help with Madrid.

Barcelona area out and further the coastline to France, Girona like mentioned or Figueres, you will find much more possibilities to golf. The weather is less dry, it is not as expensive to let the grass grow over the total year. And the Winter at the Mediterranean coastline is not as cold as Madrid. This is why the southern coastline is popular for the Spaniards to live. 
and not only for golfing, it would be nice to go directly to the south from Madrid to the Murcia area. To Valencia from there and Barcelona next. I would no really recommend to cross Spain from Madrid directly to Barcelona…. Ok Saragossa is a nice city but that’s it.

The fast train is fantastic. Gets up to 300km/hr. Not to be missed.

If you can access the private courses Madrid beats Barcelona all day everyday. Lovely courses in the hills ring the superb city. Casa de Campo Villa de Madrid is very good and accessible to the public. All courses are a short uber from the centre.
