Does anyone have any information on these courses please around the central Florida area?

Would you play or avoid?

Plantation Palms

Highlands Ridge 

Sun n lake

The country club of Mt Dora

Twisted Oaks

Saddlebrook

Those courses are not all located close to one another. Are you planning to do a lot of driving? 

 

Saddlebrook is a resort  located just outside of Tampa with two courses. I haven't played there in a very long time. Its okay if you're in the area, but it's not a place I would drive more than an hour to play. 

I haven't played Sun n Lake, but I have friends who play there a few times each year. They like it enough to keep returning. There are two courses there that are reasonably priced. 

 

Country Club of Mt Dora is located North of Orlando. It's a decent locals course and not too expensive. 

 

None of the above courses would be anything I would plan a trip around. They are more like courses I'd play if I was nearby and was looking for an inexpensive place to play.

 

I don't know the other courses you listed.

We do drive around when we visit, it's never a problem for us.

Do you have any suggestions of courses to play that you consider a decent course for it's cost?

Here are some good value courses to check out:

 

Southern Dunes in Haines City - The best public course near Orlando

Highlands Reserve in Davenport- In the best condition it's been in years, very inexpensive

Legends Clermont  in Clermont 

Big Cypress in Lakeland

Deer Island in Tavares

Royal St Cloud in St Cloud

Orange Lake Reserve in Kissimmee

White Heron in Davenport

 

Map them out. Still a couple long car rides to play some of these, but Southern Dunes, Highlands Reserve, White Heron, Legends Clermont and Orange Lake Reserve all all fairly close to one another. These are all really good "bang for the buck" courses.

 

As I posted above, I haven't played Sun & Lake, but my friends like it and it is not expensive

And you can do breakfast at Davenport diner pretty much across the street from White Heron.
